Follow these simple steps to start tracking your website visitors. Takes about 5 minutes.
To use AppWT Analytics, you need to be able to add code to your website's <head> section. This is where the tracking script goes. Most website platforms support this, including: Custom coded sites, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Shopify, Wix, GoDaddy, Squarespace, and many more.
First, you need an AppWT Analytics account. Go to our pricing page and click "Get Started". Fill in your email, create a password, and complete payment. Your account is ready to use right away.
Create AccountAfter logging in to your dashboard, look for the "Add Site" button. Type in your website address (like "mywebsite.com" or "www.mywebsite.com"). Click "Register Site" and we will create a tracking code just for you.
Click the "View API" button next to your website name. You will see a box with your tracking code. It looks like this:
Click "Copy Script" to copy the code to your clipboard.
Now you need to put the tracking code on your website. Choose your website type below for specific instructions:
If you use WordPress, you have several options:
Option 1: Theme Header (Recommended)
Option 2: Use a Plugin
Install a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers" or "WPCode". Then paste your tracking code in the Header section.
For regular HTML websites:
Do this for every HTML page on your site, or use a shared header file if you have one.
Visit your website in a new browser tab. Then go back to your AppWT Analytics dashboard. Within a few seconds, you should see your visit appear. If you see it, the tracking is working.
If you do not see your visit after 30 seconds, try clearing your browser cache and visiting your site again. If you use a caching plugin on WordPress, see the LiteSpeed Cache section below.
If your WordPress site uses LiteSpeed Cache (a popular caching plugin), you need to do one extra step. LiteSpeed may combine your tracking script with other scripts, which can break tracking.
analytics.appwt.comIf excluding does not work, you can use the inline loader method. Instead of the regular script tag, use this code:
Replace YOUR_API_KEY_HERE with your actual API key. This method loads the script in a way that caching plugins cannot interfere with.
Contact us through the Contact page if you need help setting up your tracking code. Include your website URL and what platform you use.
